Episode Transcription

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. Not long ago, a TV anchorman named Dave Benton announced in a live television segment that doctors had told him his cancerous brain tumor was untreatable and he had only four to six months to live. But listen to what this man said: “I believe that I’m in God’s hands. I am at peace, and I know he’s going to take care of the days ahead. I’m dedicated to continue good work [as a news anchor] and serve our viewers well.” Wow [I mean], Dave is dying, yet he is focused on making the best of the days he has left, entrusting them to the Lord. Dave is a good example of Romans 12. Where, the Message Bible puts it like this. It says, “Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering.” Friend, take a cue from Dave. Whatever lies ahead, live every day as an offering to God.
