Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. What would folks in hospitals or nursing homes or convalescent centers do without the loving support of Christian friends? I’m thinking about 83‑year‑old Elizabeth Paul, whose eyes have grown dim as she has a tough time getting around. But every week, Elizabeth takes the cross-town bus to volunteer at a local hospital. Her mission: to surround emergency room patients with what she calls a “halo of prayerful quietness.” And her motive: she says, “God put me here to serve.” Now, that’s what friendship is all about – it’s a way of serving others. So, if you are ready to make new friendships, come on over to joniandfriends.org, where we’ve got plenty of opportunities for you to serve someone new – like a child with cerebral palsy or a soldier injured at war. Just remember Elizabeth Paul. God has put you here, there, wherever you are, to serve.
