The Lord keeps tabs on every sparrow so surely he keeps tabs on you. Trust him as a sparrow would and relax in the protection and provision of your great God.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And as I lay in bed one morning, my eyes turned to the bird feeder outside my bay window – it was loaded with little finches. And those tiny birds reminded me of what Jesus said in Matthew 10. He said, “Aren’t two sparrows sold for only a penny? But your father knows when any one of them falls to the ground.” Huh, of all the world’s nine thousand bird species, Jesus singled out the littlest, most insignificant of birds to make a big point. Because just as the Lord keeps tabs on every sparrow – that is, who it is, where it’s going, whether or not its needs are being met – then surely he keeps tabs on you. So, do you feel like a ragamuffin little finch clinging to a birdfeeder, wondering if anyone cares? Stop and remember the facts behind Matthew 10. God cares! Trust him as would a sparrow, and relax in the protection and the provision of your great God.
