Your entertainment choices reveal what matters most to you in your heart.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And you know the choices we make to entertain ourselves reveal everythingabout our priorities. Unfortunately, what our hearts lean toward is often unhealthy for our souls and our bodies. The extra candy bar, the gossip filled magazine or the violent movie. We see entertainment as something that we do when, you know, taking “time off” to relax and not feel pressured—and so, we do not subject it to Christian scrutiny. And that makes our entertainment choices potentially damaging. But Philippians 4 gives us advice when it comes to making choices. There it says “… Brothers whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right and pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.” This week, make positive entertainment choices that honor your faith in Jesus.
