Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada and sometimes when I am struggling against pain, I wonder how in the world I’ll survive. Facing another day of such terrible discomfort, I could emotionally collapse. And you might, too. But Romans 15:5 says, “May the God who gives perseverance and encouragement enable you…” Oh friend, right there we have the assurance that God is the one who gives us the ability to persevere. And if we are in desperate need of encouragement, it comes; it originates from Him too. If it’s up to Him, he is not about to let you collapse emotionally. God is there; He is with you. And He delights to give you perseverance and encouragement. So, no matter what you are struggling with today: pain, weariness, thinking that you can’t go on, receive the gifts of encouragement and perseverance – they come straight from the heart of God to you.
