Episode Transcription

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. When was the last time you gave someone a hug? Tim, a young man with Down syndrome, is a partner in a family restaurant where hugs are served up every day. Oh sure, real breakfast and lunch is also served, but Tim’s family realized what people really want is a family restaurant that feels like, well, like a family. And so, Tim gives his customers just that. At the front door, you’ll find him greeting people with big hugs—and, yes, hugs are even on the menu! And Tim is setting an example for us all. In 1 Thessalonians 5, Paul encourages us to “greet all the brothers and sisters with Christian love.” In short, Christians are supposed to show hospitality. So, today, join Tim in giving someone a hug—whether it’s a longtime friend or maybe someone you just met who needs encouragement. It will warm their hearts and yours, too. Just ask Tim!
