Episode Transcription

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And Sean, who has cerebral palsy, recently asked me a question on Facebook. He said, “How can people with disabilities deal with rejection?” Well, this is one of those things that really, really binds us to Jesus because nobody experienced more rejection than our Lord. All His close friends and most of His family ended up turning their backs on Him. And when He went to the cross, He was abandoned and left to fend for Himself. Even His own Father in heaven! Jesus was the most God-forsaken man who ever lived. But He endured it, so that He might say to those who follow Him, “I will never reject or turn my back on you.” One of God’s primary purposes in suffering is to cause us to identify – I mean really identify with His Son, Jesu. Do you feel rejection? Well, welcome to Christ’s fellowship where we learn to experience what our Lord endured for us. And that’s a good thing.
