Today find a way to testify about Christ – that way, your gold medal, your crown will last forever.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And I was so excited to see David Boudia and Steele Johnson win the Olympic silver medal in synchronized diving. And I loved what they said on television right after their last dive. Steele told the NBC reporter, “I'm not unhappy that we missed the gold. My identity is rooted in Christ, not in the flips that we’re doing.” And Boudia, his diving partner, agreed. It was so awesome to see these Olympians honor Christ. And it happened during other events, when other Olympians would gather to pray before or after their competition. You can see it on TV. They showcased so well First Corinthians 9, “Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever.” Today, please find a way to testify about Christ and your gold medal, your crown will last forever.
