God can give you the energy to bless everyone around you – even your enemies.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And as Christians, we know that the Lord sustains his creation. He tells the bears when to hibernate; he instructs the salmon when to go upstream and spawn. He sustains all celestial orbits by his powerful arm. And of course, he keeps our bodies running, our hearts pumping, and our lungs breathing. It says so in Hebrews 1, “The Son is the radiance of God’s glory, sustaining all things by his powerful word.” And I have to say, ‘all things’ includes even his enemies. By Jesus’s silent command, the Roman soldiers had the strength to flog him. Jesus breathed into them the very energy required to flail him. And friend, if Jesus could “bless his accusers” that way—and he did—then, think of the energy God can give you to bless all—even your enemies—to bless everyone around you. That’s a good lesson today for you from Hebrews 1.
