Episode Transcription

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And years ago, when I was on my feet and used to play field hockey in high school, our coach had a thing about running laps after practice. I was already dog-tired and by the fifth lap, I would begin dragging—but that’s when I’d kick in with this little habit of mine to help me keep focused. As I would run, I would half sing in rhythm of my stride the verse from 1 Timothy 2: “For there is one God and one mediator between God and man, for there is one God and one mediator, the man Christ Jesus.” Okay, that may sound strange, but something about that verse helped me stay focused on running those laps. Today, I cannot use my legs to run around a racetrack, but I do run this Christian race while keeping in rhythm with God’s Word. Friend, life’s not easy. We’ve got many more laps to run—so, guard God’s Word in your heart and you’ll run this race strong!
