Encourage those who grieve with the hope that one day we will be together in heaven with the Lord for eternity.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And for my friend Sharon, the death of her mother has been heartbreaking. Sharon tells me, “I feel so ‘paralyzed’ – emotionally and spiritually. I’m so depressed, I can hardly stay ‘awake.” Well, maybe you know someone like Sharon who is grieving the loss of a loved one. Well, let me share with you the words of Paul in 1 Thessalonians 4. For there it says, “We who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord … and so we will always be with the Lord.” And then Paul adds, “Therefore, encourage one another with these words.” There you have it, friend. We are to encourage those who grieve with the hope that one day we will be together in heaven with the Lord for eternity.
