Episode Transcription

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And my friend, Melissa Bundy, is the mother of two boys — including Caleb who has a serious form of autism. A few years ago, when I asked her what she was planning to do on her vacation, Melissa said she wanted to volunteer at one of our Family Retreats. But not just any Family Retreat: she was heading to Guatemala! I couldn’t believe it! I mean, like, doesn’t she have enough disabilities to contend with at home?! But Melissa wanted to serve these special needs families in the spirit of Ephesians 6 — she wanted to serve wholeheartedly. Because of her experience with Caleb’s autism, she knew could really connect with those Guatemalan mothers, and share the hope she’s received from Christ. So, friend, it’s your pains and joys that can really enrich the lives of special-needs families. Learn about our International Family Retreats today at joniandfriends.org.
