Episode Transcription

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada, and the bookshelves in my art studio are not only crammed with paintbrushes, bottles, and jars, but scores of big books highlighting the best of Monet, Michelangelo, Mary Cassatt, and John Singer Sargent, to name a few. You see, before I even start painting on a canvas, I spend hours flipping through those big volumes, absorbing the inspiration and the excellence of these masters from centuries of old. The more time I spend with those great painters, the more I’m inspired toward greatness in my painting, and it’s the same way when you read biographies of great Christians from long ago. And, oh, is their message needed today, so pick up a book by Bonhoeffer, or Elisabeth Elliot, or Martyn Lloyd Jones. Read great Christians and you will be inspired toward greatness yourself.
