A Moment with Joni Eareckson Tada

Inspiring Hope

Episode Summary

Your best memories should give shape to your hopeful future – heaven will be even better!

Episode Transcription

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. I love sharing a good memory, especially the ones that inspire hope. Many of my memories are about my life before my accident. Sometimes I lie in bed and I recall the sound of my fingers tapping cool ivory piano keys or I imagine what it felt like to dig under an orange skin. Now, you might be wondering why these memories would inspire hope in me. Well, they remind me that one day I will have new hands. One day I will have fingers that work and feel and touch and squeeze! God promises me in Jeremiah 29 that his plans are to “give me hope and a future.” Friend, my best memories give shape to that hopeful future, and so should your memories – especially if you’ve lost a loved one, or lost your health, or your ability to think clearly. Whatever those fragrant memories of the past are, let them inspire hope in you now for that blessed future.
