Today, be intently focused on God’s command to serve others.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada, and I don’t know about you, but I am a people watcher. There’s just something about the way people behave that, to me, is so intriguing. Like, when at Family Retreat I was sitting in the back row behind the crowd at Talent Night – the evening where kids with disabilities and their volunteers get up on stage and perform and have fun. I kept glancing at Alice, a teenage volunteer, sitting in the audience beside ten-year-old Kyle, who was visually impaired. With every song, every comedy routine, Alice would draw close to him and get all animated and glowing, reenacting it for Kyle, not letting him miss a thing. Oh, my goodness, never have I seen a girl so intently focused on the 1 Peter command to serve another person. And friend, you can, too, be like Alice and use your gifts to serve a boy or girl with a disability at one of our Family Retreats. Just visit joniandfriends.org and learn how you can get involved in Family Retreats.
