God’s word may make your friends uncomfortable, but that’s just what they need to feel in order to start thinking about Jesus.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And are you afraid of sharing the Gospel? Worried it’ll make people feel uncomfortable? Well, for years, Will was angry at God because of his daughter’s disability. When we invited Will and his family to a church dinner for special-needs families, we weren’t sure how he would take it. Will listened to the word of God as he looked around at other families and he became even more disgruntled. We shouldn’t have been surprised: God’s word should make us uncomfortable. As one paraphrase puts it in 2 Corinthians 7, “To be distressed in a godly way causes people to change the way they think and act and leads them to be saved.” And that was the case with Will, because that Sunday after the dinner, he committed his life to Christ. So, friend, share the Gospel. Yes, it may make your friends uncomfortable, but that’s just what they need to feel in order to get thinking about Jesus.
