Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. Have you ever wondered why the Bible makes such a big deal about praising God? Well, suppose you, like God, were the most true, just, lovely and praiseworthy being in existence. Then, for anyone around you to improve in any way, they would have to become more like you, right? And for you to ask men to think about these qualities would be to ask them to think about you. Well, when Philippians 4 tells us to think about whatever is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent or praiseworthy, it’s telling us to think about God. When you’re inspired by something noble or lovely, it really is an open invitation to know God. Like when you’re enthralled by a sunset, or a smile from your grandchild, or an uplifting symphony. It’s all a reflection on Jesus; it all points back to him. The most glorious things in life are all reasons to praise our wonderful God!
