Whatever hardship you’re facing, trust in the Lord’s answer to your questions through Jeremiah 29.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And when doctors gave Briel the news that her 3-year-old had autism, she cried tears of sadness and anger. At breakfast with other special-needs mothers, Briel shared how she couldn’t understand why her daughter couldn’t develop like other children, why God—her God—why he was doing this to her. But that’s when a few more “seasoned” mothers suggested that—instead of asking God, “Why?”—Briel might ask him, “What for?” Because an answer to “why” will only address your past and present situation. But when you begin to think for what, you see the promise of Jeremiah 29, where God tells you, “I know the plans I have for you…plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Friend, if you need help for your future, start asking what for, rather than why. Then, trust God’s answer through Jeremiah 29.
