The Lord is big enough to handle your anger, and gentle enough to comfort your heart.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And my friend Robert exploded at God one day when his little boy with multiple disabilities suffered yet another seizure. Robert told me he protested saying, “God, I don’t get it. How can you allow Joshua to have a seizure that causes him to fall and bang his head?” I’m so glad Robert was able to take his concerns and his anger to God. I think, too often as Christians, we are too scared to bare our feelings to the Lord; and so, we bottle them up. But God can handle your questions. Ephesians 4 says, “In your anger do not sin,” so it's clear that not all anger is wrong. Friend, you can either move toward God with your heated questions or move away from him. The thing you don’t want to do is talk badly about him to others. No, rather, bring it all to the Lord. He is big enough to handle your anger, and gentle enough to comfort your heart. Just ask Robert.
