If you see few results from your prayers and Christian service, remember: the only thing required of a steward is to be found faithful.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. The other day I was reading a newsletter from a missionary friend who has been laboring in the Middle East for 15 years. And in all that time; after all his prayers; after building hundreds of relationships, he has seen only a handful of Muslims truly convert to Christ. And you know what? My friend is far from discouraged. He understands that nowhere in Scripture are we commanded to produce a result for our efforts; there’s no quota. Even the parable of the faithful steward was a story about – well, about faithfulness. We don’t worry about the results; that’s the Holy Spirit’s job. We, in turn, are only asked to be obedient. And God will orchestrate what happens next. So, if you have been disappointed; if you see few results from your prayers and Christian service, remember: the only thing required of a steward is to be found faithful – today, be faithful.
