Remember, this earth is not your real home – you’re just passing through on your way to your heavenly home.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And if you know me, you know I am so looking forward to heaven [not in a dreary, morbid kind of way, no]. I’m a 2 Peter 3 kind of girl. There it says, “we are looking forward to new heavens and a new earth, where righteousness is at home.” Maybe your home right now is a place of turmoil and trouble: your teenager ran away, your wife filed for a divorce, bills are piling up and you just don’t know how you’re going to keep a roof over your head. If I’m describing you, you could well be singing “This world is not my home, I'm just a-passing through.” That is the true reality. And it means you can experience peace today, because you know that your heavenly home – a place of joy and righteousness – is right around the corner. Remember, you are a pilgrim on this planet. This planet was never meant to satisfy. And you are only passing through.
