Remember to keep families living with disabilities in your prayers.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. Whenever you hear of a coworker who is expecting or you run into a friend who is pregnant, often the natural response is to say, “Congratulations!” But when it comes to a friend who is expecting a child with a disability—what do you say? Well, it’s a good question, and the answer is not that complicated because actually, congratulating someone for their baby is always a great response. And perhaps you might want to add: “You know, friend, you are not alone; I am praying for you.” Or writing Psalm 127 on a congratulations card that: “Children are a gift from the Lord.” Psalm 127 includes all children; yes, a special needs baby is a precious gift from above. Are you wondering what else you could do to encourage your friend who’s expecting a child with a disability or some other health challenge? Then visit our resource page at joniandfriends.org. And don’t forget to pray for that special needs mom who’s expecting.
