Don’t hold back your kind words – it may be exactly what someone needs to hear right now.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. Have you ever held back a kind word thinking it wouldn’t make any difference? Well, don’t. Because encouraging words are powerful! Take my friend, Linda. One Sunday in church she was very discouraged. Her daughter had already gone through many trials and now was diagnosed with cancer. In spite of all these challenges, Linda and her family persevered through the problems, sharing Christ with their family and neighbors. But discouragement was beginning to wear on Linda. That morning at church, though, someone handed her a note which read: “Don’t stop sharing your story. Because of your family’s testimony, I’ve given my life to Christ.” Job 4 says, “Your words have supported those who were falling.” So, friend, don’t hold back. Your kind words might be exactly what someone needs to hear, bringing hope and salvation.
