If you are ministering to someone, don’t give up – at the proper time people will notice your perseverance and respond to your prayers.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada, and my friend Mario has a wonderful ministry up and down the hallways of a nursing facility in Phoenix, Arizona. For months, Mario had been visiting Lester, a Native American who after many years of alcohol abuse and family problems just simply chose to lay in bed, depressed and resentful. But week after week, Mario kept showing up – bringing small gifts, picking up things for Lester, sharing the Bible, until finally, one day, Lester slapped his hand on his bed and out of nowhere suddenly said, “Well, it’s time. Let’s just do it. It’s time I accepted Christ.” Oh, my goodness! Galatians 6 says, “Let us not [be] weary in [well-doing], for [in] proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” Mario didn’t give up, and because of that, Lester is part of the harvest. And don’t you give up either. At the proper time, people will notice your perseverance and respond to your prayers.
