You can keep your head up and endure through hardship by the grace of God.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. It was on the third day of the Family Retreat, and I tell you, my back was giving me fits. I felt so deflated – I mean, how was I supposed to put a smile on at camp full of fun and activities with that pain in my back? But then came Missy, wheeling down the dining hall in her wheelchair, only to tell me just what a great time she was having. I looked at her – at the tender age of 19, her scoliosis in her spine had her sitting very, very twisted at her waist. And yet, she was cheering me up with a smile. Missy was enduring hardship, as 2 Timothy 4 rightly called her to do – and not with her head down. No. She was keeping her head up. And friend, you, too, can keep your head up and endure. Oh, and another thing that you can do: you can serve young people like Missy at our Family Retreats. How so? Just go to joniandfriends.org for all the details.
