Don’t believe everything that pops into your mind – you cannot be trusted to tell yourself the truth. Stay in the Word of God, for his Word is truth!
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada, and there is so much confusion about truth these days. I see it when I talk to young people. They are all on a quest to find their own truth, and their thoughts and feelings are leading the way – that’s all that seems to matter. They say they’re Christians, but they don’t identify with words like holiness or sin. Those concepts belong to a previous generation, not theirs. Well, if someone claims to know Christ, they need to know the truth. And the truth is, you’ve got to die to self and live for Jesus Christ. So, I tell people, don’t believe everything that pops into your mind – for you cannot be trusted to tell yourself the truth. That’s why it’s so critical to stay in the Word. And Jesus says in John 17, “Thy word is truth.” And that comes from Christ, who called himself the Life, the Way, and the Truth. I’m Joni Eareckson Tada.
