Hear some encouraging and wise words about caregiving from Joni and Ken Tada.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada and my husband, Ken, is my hero. Because for over three decades, Ken has been by my side as my husband, and my best friend, and yes, my caregiver – and he’ll tell you, these many years helping me with my disability has not been easy. Maybe you can relate. Maybe you are the caregiver of an elderly parent with dementia or possibly you are busy with the day-to-day demands of watching over your newborn. If so, let me share with you these words from my husband. He says, “When I’m serving Joni, I know I’m serving Christ. For Colossians chapter 3 reminds me that, ‘Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for the praise of men.’ When my focus is on Jesus Christ, caregiving may feel extremely tiring, but the work doesn’t have to be tiresome. It’s for God.” Just some encouraging words for you from my caring husband, Mr. Ken Tada.
