Knowing in Part

Episode Summary

On this side of eternity, you may never receive the answer to your questions, but someday you will understand fully.

Episode Transcription

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And when Nancy broke her neck in a truck accident, leaving her paralyzed from the chest down, she was so dismayed. She wrote me, “Joni, I know I have a lot to be thankful for. I could have gotten a head injury or be a quadriplegic on a ventilator. But still, I sometimes feel it would be better if I were dead. Unlike you, I admit I have not found the answers.” Wow. I understand Nancy – I’ve been there: I used to look hard for answers. But when you discover the love of Christ, answers are not the point. On this side of eternity, we most likely will never receive answers to our questions – or if we do, they may not be the answers we want. But know this: someday, as 1 Corinthians says, we will no longer look through a glass darkly. “Now,” it says, “I know in part; but then I shall know fully.” In the meantime, the only answer is Jesus.
