Today, if you wish to honor God in some special way, lean on him for his help – he will give you the strength to do it.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada and one thing I know for certain: in this wheelchair, I need help. Yes, from others, but mainly, from God. My quadriplegia has me looking to the Lord constantly for his help – every day, I need him to enable me to live, to keep going. Which is a wonderful thing! Psalm 119 says it best. “I eagerly race along the way of your commands, [O God], for you enable me to do so.” Isn’t that great? I don’t want to complain in my wheelchair and so God enables me to be cheerful. I don’t want to be impatient; I want to honor God with self-control and endurance. And so, God again enables me to do just that. Whatever command from the Lord you desire to follow, God will give you the strength, the enablement. So today, if you wish to honor God in some special way, lean on him for his help. And as you do, what do you know – he will enable you to do it!
