Episode Transcription

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And the other day Ken and I were talking about his mom and dad’s little miniature Schnauzer named Chibi. That dog was amazing; so obedient, so wanting to please Mom and Dad Tada. Ken was recounting that often, when his dad got older, he would forget to close the backyard gate. In earlier days, Chibi would have made a beeline for the street. But somehow, someway that dog understood that her master needed to be especially obeyed. And so, Chibi would sit by that open gate, until someone noticed it needed to be shut. Oh, that we were as observant and as obedient as that dog. But Isaiah 1:3 says, “The ox knows its master, the donkey its owner's manger, but my people do not know; they do not understand.” We can learn a lot from our pets, from Chibi. So, let’s be instant in obedience and quick to mind God's commands.
