Be a good ambassador of Jesus and take the time to hear the plight of others wherever you are. Lend them a hand and a prayer.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada and there’s a good reason why I'm so interested in the struggles of others. In fact, when I meet another person in a wheelchair, I pepper them with questions: “How are you doing, what are your challenges, how can I pray for you?” I'm just flat-out interested in people. Besides, so much is already out there about me – books, articles, videos, even a movie – so I would really rather hear about the struggles and joys of others. Others to me, are so much more interesting. Psalm 69 says, “The Lord hears the needy.” And if the Lord loves hearing about the struggles and needs of others, we should show the same interest. Today, you will no doubt come across someone who needs a helping hand and a listening ear. Be a good ambassador of Jesus and take time to hear their plight. Then pray and if you’re able, lend a hand. It’s the Psalm 69 thing to do.
