Find out how to serve on your very own Wheels for the World trip at www.joniandfriends.org.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada, and recently, during our Wheels for the World outreach in Poland, we met 15-year-old Amelia. This teenager arrived in her old, well-used wheelchair. She’d become used to it, and she was not excited about getting a new one. Even after we fit her to a spiffy, smooth wheeling chair, Amelia kept saying she wanted her old chair back. Her parents insisted that she give it a try. So, after making a few circles and feeling the smooth ride, Amelia was thrilled. At the end of her time with us, Amelia said that she liked her new chair so much, she wanted to leave her old one behind. You know, sometimes we get too satisfied with the status quo, with the familiar, all when God wants us to “forget the past,” as it says in Philippians, and press on to new horizons. Come serve with us and help kids like Amelia discover those horizons. Find out more at joniandfriends.org.
