Next time you’re at the kitchen sink, take a solitary moment and remember Hebrews 12. Focus your eyes on Jesus.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And it’s easy to lose sight of God, isn’t it? You get home late, you put on a casserole, then the phone rings and you forget about turning off the oven. The casserole burns and exasperated, you dump the thing in the garbage. So, you quickly whip up something only to have three out of five push it around their dinner plate. Before you know it, everybody is up, out and away from the dinner table, leaving you alone at the kitchen sink with your thoughts. Life can be pretty hectic, but it’s in these crazy moments, that we need to remember the big picture. So, take a solitary moment at that kitchen sink and remember where Hebrews 12 tells us to fix; that is, focus our eyes on the author and perfecter of our faith. With Jesus filling your vision, you simply cannot lose sight of God. That’s so important to remember, because life is a lot larger than burnt casseroles.
