Wait on the Lord, and you will discover the light at the end of the tunnel – the Light of the World!
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada, and when I think back on that dive into shallow water that broke my neck, it was like being thrust into a dark tunnel that was so long, I could not see my way out. I needed to believe that there was a light at the end of that tunnel. And I saw a glimmer of that light in Lamentations 3, “The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul who seeks Him.” Back in the hospital, what else did I have to do but wait? Besides, waiting came with a promise: if I would but seek God, the Lord would be good to me. And oh, was he good! He strengthened my faith and he lightened and brightened my path. As I waited on him, what do you know? There was a light at the end of my tunnel. And guess what? It was Jesus, the Light of the World. And he’s made all the world of difference in my paralysis.
