Today, see the risen Lord—and see this day as a chance to live a life that honors him.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. Have you ever noticed how people try to ‘tame’ Jesus’ resurrection? Covering it with sentimentality; hsi hair parted down the middle, holding a lily; surrounded by chirping birds and little cherubs. But think: only minutes before his resurrection, Jesus was stiff, gray, and stone-cold dead. Then that lifeless corpse opened its eyes, rose from its grave—and with God's glory permeating every fiber of his being, he conquered evil! Thatmakes you shout hallelujah. So please, leave behind any image of the resurrection that is syrupy and sweet; an image that demands nothing of you but your sentiments. Instead, see the death-defying victorious Christ who defeated sin so that you might have resurrection-power to live a life that pleases him. Today, seethe risen Lord—and see this day as a chance to live a life that honors him.
