Listen in to hear Joni talk about her friend starting something for good.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. Hanging on display in our International Disability Center is what we call our “Luke 14 mural.” It’s a big painting of the Parable of the Great Banquet, where Jesus says to go out and compel the poor, the crippled, the blind and the lame to come in, so that his house will be full. Well, one of the models for that painting was a teenager named Josh. Josh is an 18-year-old boy with Down syndrome, and when I asked him to be one of the people to pose for the painting, he was thrilled. In fact, it bolstered so much confidence in Josh, so much enthusiasm, that he could not wait to do something bigger for other people with disabilities. When Josh’s mother saw this, she decided it was high time to start a new special needs ministry in their church! Just look what Josh started!
