Love is always a choice. So, today, choose to love your spouse, neighbor or friend.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. One day I wheeled into the house and oh my goodness, it reeked of fish! Turns out my fisherman husband had caught 22 tuna. On the kitchen counter there were mounds of tuna filets. And my heart sank when I noticed tuna blood dripping between the sink and the stove where no sponge can reach. Later that evening Ken barbecued his tuna, fixed his special sauce, and set my plate before me with a big smile. Now even though I hate tuna and was still mad over the mess in the kitchen, I decided then and there that love is stronger than the smell of fish. As I forced it down, I realized it is far better to please my husband than to please my taste buds. Proverbs 21 says, “He who pursues righteousness, finds love, life, prosperity and honor.” Friend, love is always a choice. So, today, I hope that with your spouse, neighbor or friend, you’ll choose to love.
