Hear Joni share a sweet story about her friend’s son – it’ll be sure to make you laugh!
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada and my friend, Emily Colson recently shared a great story about how her church has become a home for her and Max, her 25-year-old son who has Autism. It was a Sunday, and their church was to have an after-service picnic. They had just finished singing a slow worship song and everyone was quietly reflecting. But right at that moment, from the back, Max erupted with a booming voice announcing “BAR-B-QUE!” And the church exploded with laughter – someone said, “That’s our Max.” Emily said, “What has changed Max’s life is what has changed mine: he is loved in our church. And he belongs.” And friend, that is what makes a church a home. First Corinthians 12 says that the parts of the body that seem to be weaker are really indispensable. Yep, that’s Max.
