Hear Joni share a story about how her friend Robert found a unique way to minister to kids with disabilities.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada and I bet you’d agree that eagles are magnificent birds, right? Strong, powerful and beautiful in flight. But have you ever seen an eagle with a limp? Unable to fly? Well, my friend Robert has a heart for such birds that have been hurt. It’s because Robert himself has a disability. He has many eagles in his care. Sometimes he’s able to help one recover, but others’ injuries are permanent. 2 Corinthians 1 says, “The God of all comfort comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble.” Well, God's comfort is not only “for the birds.” Robert especially likes to bring his disabled eagles to our Family Retreats to show to kids with disabilities. It’s a unique way of encouraging others, and it just shows there are all kinds of ways to minister. So, visit joniandfriends.org and learn of the many ways you can share God’s comfort as well.
