You make God look good when you trust him fully—especially in hard, uncertain moments. Give him all the glory!
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And the other day I was backing my wheelchair out of my van on a very steep hill. And it was scary. My husband Ken was behind me, and he kept saying, “It’s okay, Joni, I’m here; I’ve got you.” And right then I had a choice. I could either make my husband look good by trusting him and backing out of the van, or I could make him look bad by refusing to budge. Needless to say, I put my wheelchair in reverse down the steep ramp. I was not about to convey to onlookers that my husband was untrustworthy, or unable to help. And friend, in the same way, we glorify God when we trust him to do what he promises to do – especially when all human possibilities are exhausted. And the harder it seems for God to fulfill his promise, the better he looks when you trust him. So today, “trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” Do so and it’ll make God look really good!
