Text or call a friend today and encourage them!
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada and I need encouragement. And I know you do, too. But how often do we jump at the chance to encourage? I’m thinking of Pastor Michael who had a series of strokes that paralyzed him on his left side, so he now uses a wheelchair. Having a disability has really taught Pastor Michael about the power of encouragement. He said, “Joni. I spend much of my day alone, which gives me ample opportunity to read His Word and pray. I used to get discouraged by how seldom someone would write, or text me, or call. But then the Lord instructed me to look, think, and pray for people that I could encourage with a quick note.” Now that is a great attitude to have: taking the focus off yourself and looking out for the interest of others, as Philippians 2 tells us to do. So, take a hint from Pastor Michael. Do not hesitate: make that call, text that friend, and encourage!
