A Moment with Joni Eareckson Tada

Make the Gospel Real

Episode Summary

Don’t repay evil with evil but bless those who abuse you. It’s one way – perhaps the best way – to make the Gospel real to others.

Episode Transcription

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. Remember when you were a kid and Saint Patrick’s Day would come around? If you weren’t wearing green, you’d get pinched, right? Well, I recently read about the life of St. Patrick. When he was about 16 years old, Patrick was captured from his home in Great Britain, and he was taken as a slave to Ireland, where he lived for six years before escaping to Europe. There he heard the salvation message and after converting to Christ, he returned to Ireland, where he gave the Good News to tribal lords. St. Patrick is a clear example of Romans 12, as he blessed those who had persecuted him for so long. Hey, maybe you’ve had your name slandered or you’ve been gossiped about for a long time. If so, follow Patrick’s example. Don’t repay evil with evil but bless those who abuse you. It’s one way – perhaps the best way – to make the Gospel of Christ real to others.
