When you don’t have access to a Bible, be sure to memorize scripture to have eternal truths with you all the time.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And as a quadriplegic without use of my hands, flipping through the Bible can be – well – a bit of a challenge. It’s why – aside from my iPad and my loving husband who can turn pages – I rely on memorization. My friend Kathryn who has multiple sclerosis had something to say about memorizing Scripture. She told me, “Joni, with my disability and visual impairment – reading the Bible is not much of an option. But my dear husband; every day he reads a scripture verse and I go right to memorizing it.” Friend, I encourage you to do the same. Okay, so maybe you aren’t a quadriplegic or don’t have MS, but I guarantee, you will find yourself in situations when you don’t have access to a Bible – like at an airport security check line or while driving. So tuck those eternal truths in your memory, and you’ll always have a Bible right there with you.
