Don’t focus on the past or the future, just focus on sharing Jesus.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada with a question: How would your life change if you could not remember yesterday or think about tomorrow? Well, that’s how it is for my friend, Jennifer. Because of a traumatic brain injury, she has trouble with her short-term memory. But that’s a blessing. Because, you see, it forces Jennifer to live moment by moment. And Jennifer lives those moments to share the love of Jesus. At the end of each day, Jennifer prays, “Father, did I please you today? Did I miss any opportunities to share your love?” Oh friends, we could learn a lot from this young woman. How many opportunities do we miss because we are too focused on the past or thinking about the future? Ephesians 5 says, “…be careful how you live. … [be] wise. Make the most of every opportunity.” That’s Jennifer’s charge to you today. Don’t focus on the past or the future, just focus on sharing Jesus today.
