Find out why the weak are indispensable by listening to this radio program.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And back in the 1980s, my husband Ken and I visited what was then, the Soviet Union, including other communist countries in Eastern Europe. Everywhere we went, communist officials tried to tell us they had a classless society. They were all about social equality. Yet for all their politically correct language; these egalitarians did not know anything about treating people equally. We saw this in the way they treated their disabled. Actually, they didn’t even admit that they had disabled people in their countries. People with disabilities did not fit into their ideology. Well, the book of James says, “Show no favoritism.” In other words, don’t look down on others like they were lower-class, that is, the poor, the disabled, the elderly. No, we Christians honor these people. So, take time to see why those who are weaker are actually indispensable by visiting us at joniandfriends.org.
