Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And there’s a line from an old hymn that I so love; it goes, “Earth has no sorrow that heaven cannot heal.” Oh, friend when we’re hurting – and I say this from a wheelchair – when we suffer with pain that overwhelms – we’re not so much looking for explanations as much as the assurance that God really is in the center of our hurt – that he is in the middle of our pain. We want assurance that God is holding our world together and that there are answers, even if we can’t understand them. We want assurance that one day it’ll all make sense; it’ll all be made plain – and friend? Heaven will hold the answers. So take heart – the man of sorrows is the Lord of heaven. And if you are hurting badly today, join me in trusting God, knowing that when that glorious day arrives, there will be no more pain, no more sorrow and no more hard questions. Someday, you will understand.
