A Moment with Joni Eareckson Tada

No Recognition

Episode Summary

Be faithful, your reward is awaiting you in heaven.

Episode Transcription

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. Someone once came up to me and said, “Joni, I wish I could be like you because you'll get a great reward in heaven.” While I appreciate the accolade, I really do see it differently. Because I already have the reward of seeing the gospel go forth and of watching believers become encouraged because of my wheelchair. But in heaven, I’m convinced, the highest accolades will go to those godly people who labored loyally yet received absolutely no recognition. People like Christians in Muslim countries who have suffered interminable jail sentences; or the college kid who faithfully sits by the elderly woman in the pew to help her flip through the Bible during sermons. I will be so very excited when these dear people hear Jesus say, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” So, be faithful friend. Much reward is awaiting you in heaven. And I’ll be the one cheering you on.
