No Sleep

Episode Summary

Now is not the time to sleep – get started on sharing the gospel. Time to wake up from that nap!

Episode Transcription

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And I remember when I served as a chaplain to the disabled athletes in the 2000 Paralympic Games in Australia. Oh my goodness, we ministered non-stop! From morning to night, we visited hospitals and churches; we passed out gospel tracts, we witnessed to everyone from taxi drivers to wheelchair athletes. Our tireless host, his name was Fred, never wearied of keeping up with us. He would say, “I may be weary, but I’m a Proverbs chapter 10 kind of guy.” And Proverbs 10 says, “… He who sleeps during harvest is a disgraceful son.” Oh friend, there’s a harvest of souls out there, and when it comes to reaching them for Christ, I’m afraid lately a few of us believers have been napping. But now is not the time to sleep; it’s the time to get started sharing the Gospel, helping the sick, defending the oppressed, and gathering the harvest for the kingdom. So, join Fred and wake up!
