Not Scattered

Episode Summary

You may feel scattered and separated, but you are God’s elect. He has chosen you!

Episode Transcription

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And I remember when I was in Peru, meeting a brother in Christ from way up in the Andes Mountains. I was curious to learn more about his story, but this dear man told me that “I’m a ‘nobody’ – no one of any real importance.” My heart went out to him, but I tell you that man is not alone. You don’t have to live in the mountains to feel like a “nobody.” You could live in a little apartment in a big city, or feel like a stranger in your own town or church. If this is you, be comforted by these wonderful words in 1 Peter 1. Because Peter writes to the elect, and he calls them “strangers in the world and scattered.” You may feel scattered and separated, but you are God’s elect, chosen by God the Father, through the work of the Spirit, for obedience to Christ. So, praise the Father, agree with the Spirit, and, friend, obey the Son – and you will never feel like a scattered stranger again.
