Intertwining scripture throughout your prayers will show you God’s amazing and powerful will for those you pray for.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. Often, I attend prayer meetings where various requests for healing or finances or job needs are divvied out. It’s natural to pray for these things, but a closer look at God’s Word reveals a deeper, more divinely inspired way to pray for family and friends. For instance, say you have a friend with cancer. Yes, prayer for healing from cancer is in order, but so are the robust blessings of Psalm 119 where it says, “Your promises have been thoroughly tested, and your servant loves them.” With that in mind, how richer to pray: “Lord Jesus, this cancer is testing your promises in the life of my friend, help her to see that you are faithful to every promise you’ve made.” Intertwining scripture throughout your prayers will show you God’s amazing and powerful will for those whom you pray. So, friend, open up your Bible, and pray with words inspired by his Word.
